I love the subjects and the colors chosen for this cover. A number of interesting covers this month but this one is head and shoulders above them.
And extremely important to my game!!

I looked at the reviews of this lens when it was first introduced. But could not think of a reason why I would need it or how I would use it. So I forgot about it.
Time passes and during that time I sold my 24-70mm f/2.8L lens to finance something else because I seldom used it. I only used it when I had to shoot a group somewhere other than outdoors in the sun. I thought that my 24-105mm f/4L would be enough. I was wrong.
I recently had a group shoot, outdoor in the early morning. No problem, right? Just take the f/4. Then it clouds up. Long story short I got the shot but it got me to thinking about investing in another f/2.8 wide angle lens.
Doing my research I came across a lot of possiblities but I did not want to spend a $2K on a lens I would not use more than a couple times a year. Plus I did not want to add another heavy lens to the bag, because if they are heavy I tend to leave them at home! Which is bad.
This lens being on sale brought it to my attention, as I doubt I would have paid full price for it. But it is perfect for my needs. It is very sharp with great color reproduction and very light weight. It is small and does not take up much room in the bag.
So from my 2 sessions with it so far this is a very good lens. I highly recommend it.
This was taken with the Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM, a dandy little lens. Create color reproduction and very light weight!

Taken with a Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro lens and a Lastolite Tri-grip diffuser.
doing a little 35mm practice. I do not use this lens often enough.
Just wandering around during rehearsal.
Shutter speed 1/100, f/22 at ISO 400. Flash was camera left (hand held) fired by Cactus trigger. Got this idea from the great Bryan Peterson.
Had a great time photographing this young man.

I hurried home from school to catch it. Lots of great memories.
I have said before how much I love album cover art and a perfect example of that are the covers of Quicksilver Messenger Service. Great music as well. I need to listen to them again.
Trying to find the Puck. Usually a challenge for me as well!
